Economy – Keep your garden expenses down by reducing the weight! We'll trim the leaves off your plants before we ship. Trimming the leaves is not harmful to the plant. In fact, you'll see growth from new eyes soon! Worried we shipped the wrong plant? Don't be...It's our job to get the right plant to the right customer. We tag the plants BEFORE we trim the leaves. And...as we stated in our Guarantee, if you feel we have shipped the wrong plant...you have 30 days to return a trimmed or early spring plant for a refund. That's plenty of time to see your new leaves emerge!

Standard - We ship your plants with the leaves intact. The leaves are rolled in paper to avoid damage in transit. We use clean fill to prevent shifting. Packed with TLC, your plants will never know they left the garden. If this is your first hosta purchase or you are anxious to see your leaves, this may be the best shipping rate for you.
Note: Some of the large hostas may be partially trimmed in order to pack securely in a standard size box. We do not trim off all the leaves. To avoid this, we suggest ordering large varieties before July!

For both shipping methods, the root systems are packaged the same. Roots are cleaned, inspected, and packed in plastic bags with moist peat moss. Shipping bare root is an industry standard for hostas. Soil-less systems also reduce the shipping weight and delivery delay from state inspections.

ALL PLANTS SHIPPED AFTER LABOR DAY ARE SHIPPED WITH LEAVES TRIMMED.

SAVINGS TIP:
State EARLY SPRING DELIVERY and choose the Economy rate. We'll be shipping to you BEFORE the leaves emerge...so there's no trimming! You'll save money on shipping. But don't forget...protect emerging tips from late season frost! We'll be shipping EARLY! Weather permitting, delivery can be as early as late March or first week of April. Your order will be one of the first to ship! We notify you when we ship or if there is a weather delay. For best service, please provide an Email address.
